Chief Mike Booker's Message

The goal of our Department is to set and enforce the highest standards of public service. We protect a thriving community and preserve an environment that fosters security, diversity and prosperity. We are committed to the following:

• Strengthening communications and connections throughout the community.
• Maintaining an active presence in the business district.
• Continuing to expand officer involvement with neighborhood associations, the Decatur Business Association, and other community groups.
• Planning and implementing a pedestrian and traffic safety program.
• Continuing the child ID safety program to enhance safety and develop positive relationships with the youth of Decatur.
• Continuing to develop the School Resource Officer program.
